I just formatted from vista to windows 7 x64. In vista the keys worked fine, but now when I go to keyboard shortcuts in foobar, it doesn't recognize when I press any multimedia buttons, oddly it does recognize the volume up and down buttons.
I followed this guide (http://www.hydrogenaudio.org/forums/index.php?showtopic=50067&st=75) and added this line to players.ini, but still no change.
Foobar2000=wac,foobar2000.exe,xxx,xxx,xxx,xxx,xxx,xxx,xxx,0,1,foobar2000
I have the latest setpoint and foobar installed.
Do the keys work correctly in any program? Some keyboards require special drivers for the multimedia keys (my HP pavilion laptop required them, for example).
Try installing the Logitech driver software (assuming you are talking about the G15 Gaming Keyboard from Logitech); you can find it at Logitech's support website (http://www.logitech.com/en-us/441/180?section=downloads&bit=&osid=14).
Yup, they work fine in WMP. I have the g15 keyboard software.
Do you use any special features from the keyboard? I have an old Logitech keyboard and always felt I was fighting with the software, I removed it and discovered that I never used the extra features. The media keys, sleep button and scroll wheel all worke without the software, as such I have never bothered to installed any Logitech software since.
I use the G keys. Though if I exit the software, the buttons still don't work in foobar. So uninstalling it prob wont fix it. What I'm trying to do now is set my play button to home or something like that, then set foobar play to home. Though I cant seem to change the multimedia keys in the software. Any idea how to do that?
I use the Logitech G11, which is similar, and I found that disabling Windows SideShow for Windows Media Player was what I needed to do to get the media keys to work properly. You can find this setting in the Control Panel under:
Control Panel | Hardware and Sound | Windows Sideshow
Doing this also solved a problem where Windows Media Player decided it wanted to play the last video played in the background, so I could hear the audio but not see the video.
Thank you! This fixed it.
Hello everybody , I have a problem , recently I received a logitech G19 from a friend and I like Foobar2000 as a player but I can't get the media keys to work and believe me I tried .
I use Windows 7 x64 Intel machine , foobar2000 v. 1.1.7 (now 1.1.8 beta) . PS I also tried the keyboard on my laptop installing the software and foobar there also and nothing , altough the keyboard seem to function under Windows Media Player and Winamp . Have any ideeas ?
Got it , just fixed it , thousand thanks to all ... I lost a lot of time trying to figure it out .
Great, but it is useful for future readers if you confirm how—was it RevivalofHonor’s solution of “disabling Windows SideShow for Windows Media Player”?
Sorry for necroing the thread, but I've had the same problem with the new Logitech Gaming Software after buying a new mouse. Disabling Windows Sideshow in Control Panel on Windows 7 did the trick and all is well.
Cheers,
