Title: iTunes Store AAC Plus vs. iTunes Plus
Post by: F16_4444 on 2011-07-21 19:02:02
Hello

I have a question regarding the settings used by iTunes when it comes to encoded AAC files. Are the files sold by iTunes store as AAC plus any different in terms of encoder setting from the the ones encoded from CDs using the iTunes plus setting?

I'm not simply looking for quality differences; I want to know if the encoder parameters are any different

Thank you

First result from a built-in Google search for iTunes Plus: iTunes Plus preset reverse engineered (http://www.hydrogenaudio.org/forums/index.php?showtopic=70405).

You would have to ask someone at Apple for that.  And good luck getting a response.  Their lips are shut tighter than a seals butt over there...

The iTunes Plus encodes I have done work perfectly for me.  I have no real complaints with it, except  that the bitrate is a little higher than necessary IMO.  Would be nice to have the ability to select a bitrate for it.
