Hi,
I just recently made the switch to foobar2000. I'm just starting to feel comfortable using the player to manage my library and ipod. However, there's an issue with syncing that I just can't resolve. I've searched everywhere and still can't figure out what I'm doing wrong.
I'm trying to sync my library play count with my ipod, but it's not working. I've installed foo_dop (0.6.3.9) to manage my ipod. I'm able to sync tracks to the ipod, convert flac to mp3 on-the-fly, import artwork, etc., but the tracks I've listened to on the ipod do not update the playcount in foobar.
I read that I need foo_audioscrobbler, which I installed (1.3.16). I checked the "Import played tracks from portable devices (requires foo_dop)" in its tool menu. There seems to be some kind of monitoring of the played tracks on the ipod, since the same menu shows "Your cache contains X tracks. Check the console status information", where "X" corresponds to the number of tracks played on the ipod since I last clicked "Submit". Yet, the play count isn't being updated. I just can't figure out the problem.
Help would be very appreciated. I'm using foobar2000 (0.9.6.1) with an ipod classic (160gb).
Thanks!
First, foo_audioscrobbler 'scrobbles' plays to last.fm (http://www.last.fm/)
Second, it's not possible to sync play counts from the iPod to your local files. The official playback statistics component uses its own database and it doesn't have an API or use foo_dop's API.

Thank you for your answer.
In the process of trying to understand and set up foobar to my liking, I sometimes confuse what it is each component exactly does. I now get that foo_audioscrobbler scrobbles to last.fm.
So there's no way to update the play count or any other statistics from the ipod back to the local files. Any chance of a joint effort between foo_dop and foo_playcont in the foreseeable future? I'm sure a lot of users would enjoy keeping their library and ipod statistics in sync.

I would
Me too . If you find a way let me know.
A year later, I found myself asking the exact same question. I decided to do a google search, hoping to find new information, and this old (small) thread I created comes out on top...
Does anybody know of any development regarding ipod playcount syncing with foobar? It's really the only thing keeping me from using this software. I would really like to make a permanent switch to foobar and ditch itunes.
Thanks.
doesn't it already do for more then a year? http://www.hydrogenaudio.org/forums/index....st&p=620031 (http://www.hydrogenaudio.org/forums/index.php?showtopic=45160&view=findpost&p=620031)

I never knew that feature was added two weeks after I started this thread, thanks for pointing that out to me. I'll give foobar another shot!
