Title: Led Zeppelin The Complete Studio Recordings
Post by: Triza on 2005-11-02 01:27:43
Hi guys,

I am considering buying this box set of the greatest rock band ever. It has all the 10 studio recordings in it.

Could someone who has this collection give me the album gains of each CD or at least some. I would be very grateful.

Many thanks,

Triza

i have all albums in the papersleeve edition. if they are the same i can rip some tracks but some tracks are clipped on all pressings like for example whole lotta love because the original tapes are clipped.

Hi Xenion,

Yes. I am referring to the papersleeve edition. There is no other edition of the complete studio recordings. I know that it dates back to 1993.

I prefer an album gain figure. Just because some tracks differ in intensity. I would be grateful if you could rip one album and replaygain it. One album is enough.

Many many many thanks.

I have the box set - how do you find the replaygain figures?

Many thanks for being interested in helping me.

Rip it into FLAC or some lossless format. One disc is enough. Then for example use foobar player to replaygain it. Probably you need to search for replaygain if you are new to this, which you seems to be. Difficult to explain. Needless to say replaygain is a feature that is extremely useful to ensure that all your music plays at the same loundness and also a good gauge to find out how good the dynamics of the mastering.

Thanks a lot Axon,

It looks like being squashed, but not too much. It is averages around -6 dB. This  looks like the same remasters Atlantic selling individually in 1994.

Since I did not get a reply for a while I decided to order it, despite the fact that I have them individually except Presence and most of them are the 1994 remaster. Ah well.

Thanks again,

Triza
