Title: App for transfering id3tags
Post by: drumliner on 2004-04-09 11:57:19
I've done a search on the forum and checked several id3taggers but I haven't found one yet that would allow me to transfer id3tags from one set of mp3s to the other.

My problem is that I recently made new mp3 encodings of stuff I had done in the past and now I would like an app to simply transfer the id3tags from the old mp3s to the new. I have 2 folders with same number of identically named mp3s, old ones are tagged, new ones not. Is there any app that will read the tags in mp3s of one folder and transfer them respectively to the identically named mp3s in another folder? This would be quite a time saver.

You can use Mp3tag (http://www.mp3tag.de/en/) to do this.

Simply select all old files and press Ctrl+C to copy the tags to the clipboard. Then load the new files, select them and press Ctrl+V to paste the tags from the clipboard to the files.

ID3 TagIt (http://www.id3-tagit.de/) will also do it.
