Since the last update (1.3.8) I seem to get this problem. Anyone else?

Yes, it is! Greyed out.
well if you're using the last.fm official software, i don't think it has any settings within foobar so all you can do is double check whatever settings there are in the application itself. nothing in recent versions of foobar will change the way it works. if you still don't have any joy, you could try the last.fm forums.
i prefer to use this alternative component....
http://www.foobar2000.org/components/view/foo_audioscrobbler (http://www.foobar2000.org/components/view/foo_audioscrobbler)
it's completely standalone and all it does is scrobble. you might not like it though if you're used to the last.fm software.

Hey Marc, thanks a lot for your advice, but the official scrobbler suddenly started working again... all by itself. So for now I'm good, but if anything goes wrong again, I'll try the alternative component. Thanks again!
I noticed last.fm was experiencing some problems with its library yesterday (without a notice on the status page). Whenever last.fm scrobbling acts strange (which does happen from time to time) and you didn't change a thing then don't be so quick to say foobar is at fault because it usually is on the side of last.fm.
