Title: How to rip files without running EAC as administrator
Post by: Feldon on 2014-09-13 15:17:57
I am running Windows 7 Home.  I only have one user account, so of course it has administrator priviledges.  I have EAC set-up to use Mareo in order to rip and compress to Flac and MP3.  However, it only seems to work when I use the "Run as Administrator" to open EAC.  Otherwise, I get an error.  Using "Test Encoder", I can see the error when it tries to execute the lame encoder:

Code: [Select]
EXECUTING: C:\Program Files\lame3.99.5-64\lame.exe -V2 --vbr-new --ignore-tag-errors --ta "Track Artist" --tl "CD Title" --tt "Track Title" --tn "5" --ty "1999" --tg "Drum Solo" "etmp7Can't init outfile 'C:\Program Files (x86)\Exact Audio Copy\Mareo\etmp7!1!5.mp3'
!1!5.wav" "C:\Program Files (x86)\Exact Audio Copy\Mareo\etmp7!1!5.mp3"

I think the problem is that EAC is trying to write the .wav file to C:\Program Files, and it doesn't have access.

Is there anyway to tell EAC to write the .wav file to somewhere else where it would have access without needing to run as administrator?

Set output to a writable folder

Check EAC settings: F9 - directories
