hi. Do you know if there is something like a "mp3 link file" that would point to a track inside a single-album-mp3-file (CD image converted to mp3), similar to the .apl files pointing to a track inside an .ape image ? many thanks.

Try using a cue sheet.

cue sheet lists all tracks of an album image
.apl files list only 1 track (of that album image) each
