foobar2000 updated - recover the album list / search function ?

Rookie non-foobar fluent question!
under the Library heading Album List: - All Music in bold print - at the bottom: View - by artist/album (selected)
nothing else no list, nothing - I'm stuck there. How do I recover the album list?
Similar problem under Search - all entries get 0 results. How do I recover the search function?
Both of these worked and then they didn't. I don't know of anything I did to change things, but with me you never know...
I would very much appreciate some insight and instructions!

Check in File > Preferences > Media Library and see if you have added Music Folders - you could try right-click a folder > Rescan, or otherwise remove them (click OK/Apply) and add the folder again and wait for it to be scanned.
