foobar2000 2.25 Preview 2025-05-09 -> UPnP

First of all: I've waited for many years now for an update of the very outdated 3rd party UPnP component without 64 bit support. Adding UPnP capabilities to the foobar main component is even better and it works like a champ. Gapless between tracks, no unrequired conversions and not a single problem until now even in the preview version. Very many thanks for that.
So just a short note: After 1st successful testing of the 2.25 preview I took the opportunity to switch from the local 32 bit installation on my Windows audio server to the 64 bit version of foobar and UPnP stopped working. After some digging in the Windows logs it appeared that this was related to missing firewall rules for the new foobar binary after reinstallation. Because I can imagine that not everybody is able to find and fix this on his or her own I would suggest to apply the required firewall exclusions automatically by the installation process when the final version is released.
But again: Many thanks for adding generic UPnP capabilities to foobar2000, really great and very welcome work.

I'm interested in UPnP in a 64-bit version too, and have been using the 'old' plugin with the 32bit version. The browser shows all (any) servers on my LAN, and lets me navigate and play files, playlists etc.

I have tried a clean install of 2.25 (64) and added columns_UI,  and cannot find out how to get FB2K to browse for files on my NAS (which is running a UPnP server) - can anyone point to the setup I'm missing?

I play can files from the NAS, but I'm not sure if FB2K is just reading files over SMB.  I can't get artwork (Folder.jpg) either, but which works fine with the 32b version and the old plugin.

With this version (x64, windows) I noticed the "stream_title=" isn't working for me. With v2.24.3 and foo_out_upnp v1.4 this did work.
I removed foo_out_upnp before installing 2.25, and the audio is still send to the output device, but instead of the selected text the device displays an IP address followed by a long string, ending in stream.flac

Quickly checked - IT WORKS! THANKS!  :D

Finally we can abandon (very) old "foo_upnp" 32-bit only plugin (as its developer has abandoned it also many years ago) and migrate to modern 64-bit  native environment.
It works also under Linux-WINE in x64 wineprefix.
And regarding DSD: I confirm that we have FIRST 100% working solution for foobar2000 for streaming native DSD playback over home network.

Foobar2000 becomes FREE and complete alternative for other commercial solutions. And it is light years ahead of them, in terms of usability and flexibility. Seriously.  8)

According to the change log it had been added only UPnP server and client but not control point functionality which would be required for this use case.

The wording is a little confusing, but I think all that's been added is renderer capability (Preferences > Networking > UPnP) not server.
