foobar2000 for Mac / Re: foobar2000 for Mac: bugs
Last post by Guildencrantz -
Windows that appear as the result of some process that you initated (checking for update, verifying with AccurateRip...) are now by default inactive (though they are topmost), so you have to click on them first to be able to do something with them (dismiss, save...). Rather inconvenient.

HDCD. And hdcd.exe. Even if the answer to this is affirmative, I surely would understand a "nah, not doing it":

Is it possible to undo the decoding that hdcd.exe did? I still have some pesky albums with "some HDCD tracks but not all" and that might need CUETools repair ...

Sure it is if it is a fake HDCD:  sox -v 2 24bitfile -b 16 -D 16bitfile and cross fingers - and indeed it turns out most of my "HDCD" discs were that kind all over - but if PE or LLE were used?

General Audio / Re: Need some advice on resampling 192Khz/32bit float.

To avoid possible clicks between tracks, while keeping exact duration of tracks, you can use for conversion foobar2000 audio player converter with SoX resampler component and option "Don't reset DSP between tracks".
Sadly due to the massive size of the files (compared to my bandwidth) I use Google Colab as intermediate to process my files before downloading them so I can't use foobar, maybe I should keep them whole without splitting them (flac +cue)

Edit: sorry my bad I will just split the flac files after downloading, I need some sleep.

3rd Party Plugins - (fb2k) / Re: Spider Monkey Panel (foo_spider_monkey_panel)

Too bad this component is stuck for the last 3 years now and never got upgraded to 64-bit
Yeah, but what about JSplitter?

Also dumped a few months ago so it is no longer supported.
Beside that Spider Monkey Panel has some capabilities that JSplitter does not (e.g. Library Tree and Biography)

Other Lossy Codecs / Re: exhale - Open Source USAC encoder
Last post by AiZ -
Hello,

If you plan to encode USAC files with exhale, with SFB_QUANT_PERCEPT_OPT parameter set to 0 or 1 and play them using foobar2000, you should stick to version 2.24.x as there's currently a bug in ffmpeg USAC decoder.

If you encode files using exhale default value SFB_QUANT_PERCEPT_OPT parameter, upgrading foobar2000 will be fine.

Android, Windows and MacOS integrated libraries can decode USAC files generated by exhale, whatever value SFB_QUANT_PERCEPT_OPT parameter is.

Audio Hardware / Question in-ears magnetic driver
Last post by classicaran88 -
In-Ears headphones use magnetic dynamic drivers. If you bring the in-ears close to an electronic device that releases magnetism with a 29" CRT TV (coils, speaker) turned on, will this TV cause demagnetization or permanent loss of performance of these in-ear drivers?

General Audio / Re: Need some advice on resampling 192Khz/32bit float.

...and if you source  files have unwhole quantity of frames (cue counts time in frames - 75 frames per second, so for 192 kHz, 1 whole rame contains 2560 samples) then merging them to image+cue will change duration of tracks slightly. Problems are everywhere :D Some software can even pad unwhole frames with silence, making situation much worse than possible clicks from resampling.

To avoid possible clicks between tracks, while keeping exact duration of tracks, you can use for conversion foobar2000 audio player converter with SoX resampler component and option "Don't reset DSP between tracks".

Support - (fb2k) / foobar2000 v2.25 preview 2025-05-09 [x64]: Problem with some Hotkeys
Last post by adkurz -
Hello,

I'm using foobar2000 v2.25 preview 2025-05-09 [x64]. After the update, two of my Hotkeys stopped working. CTRL+Shift+Left and CTRL+Shift+Right for seeking for 10 minutes are non functional in the new preview. If I register other hotkeys for the specific commands, everything works. I have also commands on CTRL+Left/right and Shift+Left/Right. Could you please investigate and fix the problem?
