^ The internet archive has the original documentation ...

Preferences > Tools > Playlist Fix - The default matching pattern has worked fine for me but you can change it here if you need to get really specific.

Switch to playlist with dead items > File > Playlist Fix >

'Check active playlist' (this provides a report without changing anything)
'Fix active playlist' (replaces dead items with matching tracks from library)

Thank you for this component, it is very useful. I've been using it for a while and it has always worked well.
I've just moved some folders, and it allowed me to retrieve two large playlists (2000 and 3000 items) very easily.

This component is such a lifesaver. Better than the old one as well. Thanks :)

A big THANK YOU, indeed a lifesaver. Is there maybe a bug? For some dead entries the plugin didn't find an obvious substitute, which is in the media library. In this example I have downsampled the source material and the new files have a new name. Nothing else should have changed. I can find no differences.

The string I use:

Code: [Select]
%codec%|%composer%|%ensemble%|%album%|%tracknumber%|%totaltracks%|%discnumber%|%title%

First the 2 dead item pages, then the alive item pages:
X
X
X
X

The component is dumb as a rock and expects exact string matches. If no match is found, it can only be because the strings are different, not a component bug. If it's not immediately obvious then it could be case, punctuation or white space.

I have no idea when fb2k 2.25 preview is getting a public release but when it does, it's going to break all previous versions of this component badly. It will always report no dead items even when there are.

I'm pre-empting this by releasing a fixed version now and hoping people will see this/upgrade in time.

Just realised I was being overly dramatic here. It only breaks in portable mode with playlist items on the same drive as the portable install.

But updating is highly recommended regardless.  :P

Now that fb2k 2.25 preview is out, I shall bump this with a reminder that anyone using this component should update to 1.3 that I released a few weeks ago.
