What type of EQ exactly is used in the Foobar2000 built-in equaliser?

What type of EQ exactly is used in the Foobar2000 built-in equaliser?

What I need to know:

Type of EQ (FIR, IIR... is it linear phase too?, etc)  Yes I know it's a graphic EQ, but I need to know more.
Q of each band  or the width of each band and whether or not they overlap and by how much.  The slope of the bands or a graph if possible.

I would like to know these things because after I compose tunes I listen and EQ at the same time using Foobar2000.  Afterwards I try and replicate the EQ settings using VST effects in a digital audio workstation.  The results are better than if I record the output of Foobar because I can use floating point for the EQ processing and if it clips I just normalise down or affect the amplitude of just the peaks.  I like how the boosts sound instead of the "Auto-Level" which attenuates instead of boosts.  It doesn't sound the same.

Any answer would be greatly appreciated.

If you don't like the built-in EQ, you could always try this one.

Wow you guys are great!  Thanks so much!  All those links are helpful.  I also found the Foo_VST on one of those links.  Thanks so much.

I use foobar2000 to audition my tunes after I make them, but occasionally I need some minor EQ touchups.  I don't usually know what needs touching up until I start playing with the EQ settings in foobar.  After that, I write down the needed EQ changes and reload my digital audio workstation to apply the EQ using a VST.  But it's been tricky because foobar's EQ settings don't match the EQ settings of graphic EQ's that I've found.  So I try using parametric EQ.  But without knowing the characteristics of the foobar EQ, it's shooting in the dark.

These other foo components will surely help me.  I'll try them both.  And thanks for the EQ frequency response graphs.  I didn't know about the unsmoothed effect of the built-in EQ.  It must be some kind of simplified/low latency linear phase EQ is my guess.  Anyways thanks again.

I am very thankful because this last step of my composition process turns out to be one of the most important ones.  I think if I play my cards right, my tunes will sound even better now.
