How to install Lame in Windows 7 64-Bit?

So, I downloaded the 3.98 packet, but there is no exe app to start the install?

How can I install it?

If this question has been answered before, can someone give me a link to that discussion?

If you mean you downloaded one of the LAME bundles from RareWares, it does not need to be installed. LAME is a stand-alone executable that is run directly from the command line, or you can use a front end like ALL2LAME so that you don't have to run LAME directly. Front ends are very useful if you want to encode multiple files at once, as they support batch operations. You're going to want to read the Hydrogenaudio wiki page on LAME to know what options to use when encoding.

It's a commandline, you don't install it, you call it either via "run" like commands (black & white text) or by a 3rd party GUI (graphical user interface).

Edit: Aleron was faster.

No idea. Looks like a front-end. Just download foobar or something and be done with it

Aleron has already linked to where you can download LAME.

It is an example of a possible user interface. A suggestion for application developers.

This looks like a KDE GUI for Lame. Obviously, it's a graphical interface for linux. If you're on win32 you'll have to use something else.

I would suggest F2K too or maybe all2lame if you want a GUI for lame & only that. (Edit: Maybe there is a better stand-alone GUI these days, I dunno I don't use Lame)

Or use LameDropXPd ...
is a practical frontend for LAME that makes things easier to the user, as there is no need to know about command line usage: most LAME settings are reachable on a graphical interface. Besides encoding WAV files to MP3, it can transcode Ogg Vorbis files, decode MP3 files to WAV, and auto-tag the files it encodes.
