Bit-exact playback and fading

I like both features. Is there any way to bypass the OS mixer and still achieve audio fades? I'm currently using the kernel streaming component and love the solid playback, I only wish I could have the smooth .5 second fades in and out of pause and between track switching like I used to. Is it possible?

I like both features also.

I tried enabling dithering, nothing. I thought maybe another method like this ASIO I've heard of may work. There's got to be a solution.

Well, like I'm supposed to, I did some searching and found this: http://www.hydrogenaudio.org/forums/index....8&hl=fading

I'm still not convinced there's no way to get the full sound of bypassing the OS mixer without being able to fade. Is there a way to use DS yet retain the full sound of KS?

Hello my friend,
no, there is no way to retain the full sound without KS or ASIO.
The problem is most people in this forum and probably the programmer of foobar2000 think it's placebo.
I believe it's a problem of low-grade stereo systems.
I'm wondering why KS-, Asio- and Wasapi Plug-ins for foobar2000 exist.

And no, Fade on seek, Fade out, Fade on pause doesn't work to be connected with KS and Asio.

It's not placebo, it's quite obvious that there is software mixing without kernel streaming. I'm sticking to DS for now, good enough for me, I'd rather the fades and no buffer delay.
