Does anyone know if the product key actually gets listed in the registry for Windows XP? My roommate and I have been looking for it because he is a computer science major and needs to see if he can find it in his registry, but we have not had any success. We found the product id, but need the product key. Thanks for any help.

We both have a program like that. He needs to know the actual registry key that contains the product key -- if there actually is one. He is writing a program or something and needs to to check the registry for the product key, so he needs to know where it is located in the registry for XP. Thanks for the reply.
