XLD won't update

for the last months i've been unable to use the built in updater in XLD.
when i get a message that a new version is released, i click the "Install Update" button, i get a download progress bar (6.9 MB), but when the download is finished i get this error message:

Update Error!
An error occurred while extracting the archive. Please try again later.
{Cancel Update}

i downloaded the last version manually (20100918), but the problem persists. i can't download the latest version because the XLD website isn't updated yet.

OS X 10.6.4
iMac 24" 2.93 GHz core duo

I've had the same problem, but it seems to be intermittent or inconsistent as my laptop had the update issue, but my desktop was fine.  I'm not sure if it's the network or a problem with the update framework.

You should be able to manually download any release from the Google Code page: http://code.google.com/p/xld/downloads/list
