Windows xp Professional x64

I've been searching for a good music software to replace iTunes, which won't install on my operating system. Someone just now recommended Foobar2000. Before I go downloading and installing it, I wonder if someone can tell me if it's compatible with my os? I did a search and I see that someone has Windows 7 x64 installed on their machine, but compatibility with my particular os often poses problems for some reason. The System requirements page just says Windows XP. I've come to accept that I often have to get work-arounds for softwarez.

Much appreciated, thanx.

Mark: you have an Itanium processor? "XP Professional x64" and "XP 64-bit" are different Operating systems.

It's normal for XP Professional x64 to have some compatibility problems. Most problems will probably be driver related, so even if it does work for someone (like possibly marc2003) it still might not work for you, unless you two run identical hardware with identical drivers.

My guess is directSound will work, but something like ASIO or kernel streaming output most likely wouldn't.

[edit] I've been told everything works.

Thanks for getting back. I'm glad to see it will work with a straightforward install. I'm just a user, not at all 'techy'. When it comes to the business end of my computer, I'm a bit lost.
