Foobar2000 can't see ASIO dll

Hi,
I am a newbie.  I have loaded Foobar2000 v0.9.6.9 and ASIO4all v2.

I put foo_out_asio.dll in the ..\foobar2000\components folder.

I have copied asio4all.dll into the ..\foobar2000 folder and into the ..\foobar2000\components folder.  It is also in the original ..\ASIO4all folder.

When I go to foobar2000 - preferences - asio virtual devices - add new,  Foobar says "no asio drivers found."

I think it is related to having the programs files folder in I:\ instead of C:\ .  Windows XP sp3 keeps labeling my SSD (solid state disk drive) as I:\.  Before I changed over this weekend, the regular HD was C:\.  (The SSD has replaced the HD.)

Any ideas on how to make foobar see the asio driver ???

Also, any "getting started in foobar" guides around ??

Thanks,
Mike

So you installed ASIO4ALL before drive letter was changed from C: to I:? If so, just reinstall ASIO4ALL (and delete asio4all.dll from foobar and components folders).

Btw, ASIO4ALL is a fake ASIO and is useless for audio players.

No.  The SSD I:\-drive was installed clean.  I installed Windows XP and then Foobar and ASIO4all.

It is a new install on I:\

If this is a fake ASIO, what should I use.  I am following the instructions from www.Ayre.com on how to set up Foobar with an ASIO driver.  I am going to use it to pass audio data to a USB DAC, the Ayre QB-9 DAC.

That is if I can get the computer to run.....

AFAIK asio plugin+ASIO4ALL isn't better than Kernel Streaming plugin (foo_out_ks.dll). You can try this plugin instead.

Thanks.  I found the .dll in the component download section.  It's a plan.
