Support for FLV?

Quite a few flv files contain (only) mp3 audio or (HE-)AAC audio.

Obviously these files can be demuxed using FLVExtract.exe into standard mp3 and AAC, but it would be even more convenient if fb2k could play the flv files as-is.

Cheers,
David.

It seems FLV is MP4-based so this should be trivial, request noted.

Update: only the new "F4V" container is MP4-based, so it's not that simple after all.
Microsoft Windows: We can't script here, this is bat country.

if you don't mind me asking, where do you find these "quite a few" audio-only FLV files?

By the way, BBC radio is also available in .asx, which you can use in foobar with foo_input_mslive. They might only be available in certain regions though. You can also set a folder.jpg for them. I made some from the .svgs on wikipedia, if anyone wants I could upload them, although I don't know if it's legal...

The decent quality stuff is UK only.

Currently streaming = 128kbps AAC; on-demand = 96kbps HE-AAC and 192kbps AAC.

David.

Hi,

The url mentioned sooner is not anymore proposing foo_input_flv.dll for downloading.

As far as I know, Foobar2000 is able to play audio from video files which use codec avc1 (H.264/MPEG-4 AVC) but if file extension is .flv you have to rename it to mp4 else you will get an error message in foobar2000.

To find what codec is used by a file you can open it with GSpot Codec Appliance downloadable from Google.

Then Foobar2000 still can not play FLV4/VP6 files.

Does anyone managed to play FLV4 files with foobar2000 ?

I can only play them with VLC until now.

Configuration : Foobar2000 v0.9.6.8

What about DirectShow Input (foo_input_ds)? I think it may allow you to play whatever files, mine plays avi files for example. Of course I am getting no video but that's not a problem for me
Mine does not play flv files but perhaps I am missing a codec.

This is ok for AVIs but not for FLV or other extension when codec is FLV4/VP6.

Then my question's still open

FLVextract gives you a raw AAC stream that fb2k can play, but cannot seek. You need to remux it to get that functionality.

So native FLV support would be great.

David.
