[TOS #9] Is WMA drm removal possible with Vista?

I have a question before I waste any more time searching for this and figured you all know a lot about this kind of thing.

I purchased a whole bunch of audio books from my library book sale on the cheap. Some have WMA format and DRM.

I had to go and upgrade my license to play them on my computer, which is fine. I would like to be able to put them on my iPod or burn them to a CD. I tried burning them to a CD and it wouldn't let me.

Oddly enough I was able to get them off the CDs but I can't convert the files.

I spent a more than a few hours reading threads on the Internet and found drmdbg and freeme2 but the thing is they didn't work for me. All of the threads were pretty old (around 2007) and indicated (at the time) it just doesn't work from Vista. I have Vista.

I got the latest version of freeme2 from source forge and I got a version of drmbg (I can't tell which one).

My question is does anyone know if you can successfuly strip the drm off WMA files when you have VISTA. The only answers I have found involved things like telling me to not use Vista, and to downgrade my WMP to version 9 (I have 11).

Considering they are only audio books, I can just make an analog recording of them, it doesn't have to be great sound.

So basically I just want to know if it can be done. I figure there is no point trying to do something and spending a day or so looking for an answer that isn't there.

If it can be done with Vista let me know.

Thanks

As I said I own the files and I have the licenses to play them on my computer, which it does fine.
