aucdtect

Hey everyone, I tried to search for this issue but couldnt find what I need so hope you wont mind me asking a question now..

I cant seem to use auCDtect. I tried to open the .wav file with the "open with" -> "aucdtect.exe. It then scans but the window immediately closes after its done scanning. And when I double click aucdtect.exe a window pops up but immediately closes.

Anyone know how to use this software?

Have never used it. Based on description on their website, it is a console program. It runs from the command prompt [dos window].

If you are having trouble with running dos windows app, why not use the most recent version [tau-analyzer]which says that it now has a windows GUI?

IIRC, tau-analyzer support CD input only.
Try Audiochecker, it's a frontend for aucdtect and you can use flac, Monkey's Audio or wav as input.

Ok I tried that, thanks. Something bugs me though..

According to audiochecker every track (14 in total) except track 5 is cdda. It says "Conclusion: This track looks like MPEG with probability 95%" Idk, it seems unlikely that ONLY track 5 isnt lossless. Any advice? I cant hear the difference enough. I just want to store true lossless files so I can encode them every time itunes/lame updates.
