Hard to see how USB/NAS drives are a special case really. You still end up with the situation where you can't rely on the library being up-to-date. My library is almost that big and (let's face it) that's kind of extreme. I'm thinking maybe install a small player for command-line use and leave foobar for jukebox/file management functions.

I know what you are saying, but that is why I want the option to turn off scanning with big exclamation that I am doing that at my responsibility. Foobar2000 comes without any warranties whatsoever, I think, so I don't understand why that option can't be included, as I suggested in other post in this thread.

So people, are you satisfied with the workarounds regarding library monitoring in 1.1 beta?
Full-quoting makes you scroll past the same junk over and over.

Oh yes, the right-click options are great. Thx you for that.

What could be also sweet, would be :
  • another right-click option to activate/desactivate a "path";
  • an EDIT button below ADD and REMOVE ones, so we could repair some dead links/path (specialy useful for Autoplaylists).

It would be nice to be able to select multiple music folders and change settings for them. I have about 20 music folders. So it is a bit of work to change each one them.

I think most users won't notice the new context menu. There is nothing about it in the changelog. I wouldn't have found it if I hadn't read this topic.

This is a really cool feature.  I have a highly tweaked music server and just out of principle I don't want to occupy my CPU resources with anything that's not entirely necessary.  Setting Foobar to check once on opening works great for me.  The feature was difficult to see the feature was there, without searching the forum.

Foobar remains one of those things that makes technology and the Internet so cool.
