Experience with monoprice cables?

I searched and only got 2 hits so figured I would post a direct question:

Do you have experience with purchasing audio cables (particularly analog interconnects) from monoprice.com, and if so would you please share your opinion?

The website has ridiculously low prices for what appear to be more than satisfactory quality cables according to the customer reviews.  But I would like to get some opinions of the HA folks to confirm or deny what I have already read.

Thanks in advance.

Mark

I have purchased two HDMI cables from monoprice and one analog male 3.5mm to male 3.5mm cord that was 0.5 ft long.  The analog cable is short and I use it in my car to connect my iPod via an auxiliary input.  I haven't had any problems with the analog cable nor the HDMI cables.  Then again, the HDMI cables are digital and the analog cable is rather short.  From what I hear, monoprice.com gets their cables directly from the factories before they slap labels on them so that is why they are so inexpensive.  That is just what I "heard" though so I don't know if that is true.

Personally I wouldn't buy analog cables from them, but since with digital signals cable quality is practically a non-issue (the signal either gets there or it doesn't) I buy 'em from there. I've bought HDMI and bilingual Firewire cables so far, all with no issues.

My analog cables are AudioQuest for my Infinity sub and Monster for everything else in my home theater.

Implication is there are issues with analog cable sound quality?

There are technical considerations with digital cables that could affect signal loss which would mostly affect how long a cable you could use, but in practical use I would agree that digital cables shouldn't affect signal performance.

If I may ask, what is a "bilingual" Firewire cable?
Was that a 1 or a 0?

Looking at monoprice their prices are in line with what you would expect to pay from a professional supplier like Canford Audio or Studiospares in the UK don't know what the equivalents are in the US. Therefore I suspect their analog cables are perfectly good.

If you want to see how silly Monster cable is read

Lost of people recommend Blue Jeans for cable as well, more expensive than somewhere like monoprice, you are paying for more esoteric choices of cable and assembly to order in specific lengths.

A "bilingual" firewire cable is one which allows you to connect a Firewire 400 device to a Firewire 800 port.

One reason for trusting inexpensive digital cables but not inexpensive audio cables is that if there are problems with a digital cable you know it immediately because it doesn't work. Problems with an audio cable can be subtle and insidious, so you may not even be aware there is a problem.

That said, I believe that most inexpensive cables are just fine and don't measurably degrade the signal.
