Internal Speaker Beeping

When using b16 on WinXP the internal speaker has started beeping for no apparent reason. With default settings and listening to mp3s. One time closing foobar immediately stopped the speaker from beeping, and another time closing foobar did nothing. Has anyone else had this happen?, using foobar or not? I know this could be a warning that my cpu is overheating, however this has never happened before and no settings have been changed.

This may look as a stupid question, but have you an IRC client loaded in background ?

could be a tempurature warning, or maybe some chipset screwup, if your using directsound do you have hardware mixing enabled might try disabling it....or if your using kernelstreaming try another option

hehe, that happens to me too, running XP Pro and deafult setup, it only happens with foobar and I am using the version on the homepage. It happens rarely so no big deal. One time when it was beeping I turned the speakers off and then teh computer itself continued the beeping, strange. I see it happen more often when eMule is hashing a file and foobar is running.

Maybe something's wrong with the sound scheme, e.g no wav assined to some event or it refers to missing wav or such. It could be the case?..

Don´t you see (hear ) it happen when foobar isn´t running? My Emule beeps when it runs out of diskspace and can be configured to do so on several other occasions...

hehe, wouldn't know... as foobar is always running when I am on the computer.  I'm always listening to music, I just notice that when eMule hashes a file it beeps for a while, then goes away, no big deal. If it matters at all, I am using kernel streaming because that is the only one that blocks out all other sounds on my computer.

I have had the speaker beep when one track is playing and I then double click to play another track (mid-track), can't reproduce it everytime though. This is was on the 0.43 version. Hasn't done it on 0.5b14 version yet.
