Windows XP SP3 is officially here.

Hi Everyone.

Windows XP SP3 is now officially available to the whole world. It can be downloaded as either a stand-alone installer or an .ISO file.

The stand-alone installer is about 316MB in size while the .ISO image is about 545MB. Has anyone downloaded the .ISO image. What does it contain in addition to the service pack? Does it contain the stand-alone installation file itself? Any info is very welcome.

The ISO I have from the MSDN is simply XP with SP3 slipstreamed. The only strange thing I noticed is that IE7 and WMP11 are not installed be default.

I am not to sure if Microsoft would give away copies of Windows XP to the general public. Hence, I suspect that this is not the same .ISO that you downloaded off MSDN.

If it indeed is a copy of XP with SP3 slipstreamed, then I won't bother with it. I will get the stand-alone installer and slipstream it myself WITH IE7 and WMP11 using HFSlip.

If someone has downloaded the .ISO off the URL that is accessible by everyone, please let me know what the CD contains.
