LG 8120B Firmware

I have a LG 8120B 12x Burner firmware version 1.03.
It is a rebadge from HP.  I know that they are up to firmware v2.0.  The only problem is that I can't figure out how to download it from the LG site.  Also, is it a good idea to do this since it's a rebadge?  The reason I ask is that it is stuck in PIO Mode 4 and I've tried everything else to try to move it DMA 2.

Firmware 2.0 is here. It's 5 mouseclicks away form their US service page.
About your other questions: No idea.

BTW - Strange: I've just had a look at their service pages for several countries. In some places there's only 1.02/1.03 available. [guesswork] Maybe they want different behaviour on extraction of copy protected audio CDs in some countries? [/guesswork]

This firmware upgrade is for firmware versions below 2.00 of the LG Branded CED-8120B CD-RW drives only – Do not use for LG drives purchased in France.

The ROM version is stamped on the top of the drive below the serial number.

This upgrade is not designed for drives manufactured HP, IBM, Compaq, Dell or any other OEM {Original Equipment Manufacturer} customers, please contact the OEM for all firmware updates and support for your OEM drive.

This is from the readme from the firmware.  My Drive is badged as a HP.  Should I just leave well enough alone or should I still press my luck and go for it?

Also, anyone know if I could still get a copy of firmware v1.03 incase this messes something up?

Also, I should mention,  this drive always shows up as an LG 8120B on my WinXP box, Nero, EZCD, CDRWin etc.

edited for clarity...
