Is there a way to rip audio CD in 24 bit

and as a follow up question if it is possible, would it do any good. I am looking for the most accurate and the highest quality CD rip I can get. Is 16/44k wave the best you can do with an audio CD if you cannot rip in 24 bit. I do not care about how much space it would it take or anything else. Just need to know before I start my collection. Thanks

Since the audio on the cd s 16/44.1 you wouldn't get any gain in doing 24 bit rips. Unless you have to process the data later.
but you might as well
- rip in 16/44.1
- then scale it to 24/44.1
- process it
- save the work

i might be wrong but see it this way:
you will not get qualtiy by adding some extra space for information that is not there in the first place.
However the extra bits are nice to avoid rounding errors when you work/process  the data.

16-bit is WAY more than sufficient if you're just going to play back your music.

Leave 24-bit to the people who create and modify music.

This will not, however, be 24 bit.

16 data resampled to 24 bit will have all zeros in the lower order 8 bits.
