Windows Media Encoder and Vista and webstreaming

i could have sworn it was just a 5 minute job setting up WME so that you could setup your favorite music player to play all your freakin' music, then connect to your computer from anywhere else (work, friend's house), and listen to your tunes.

however, i poke around WME9 x64 in Vista x64, and i don't know if it's the fact that it's Vista, the fact that it's x64, or whatever, but i can't for the life of me, figure out how to do it. i could have sworn there was an option under Source / Audio that you could select your Primary Sound Driver/Mixer as where you get your audio from...

any ideas?

Icecast/whatevercast/VLC (unless it can do something similar to WME) is not an option as i don't want to go installing Winamp on others' computers, and i'm downright forbidden to at work...

edit: also, computer at work is too slow to use Orb. it takes 30+ seconds to draw a digg.com webpage (and computer's at 100% cpu)
