FLAC news feed

I've set up an RSS feed for FLAC news.  usually I put this stuff on the front page and news page but rss seems a more useful addition.  right now there are rss 1.0 and 2.0 feeds because I'm not sure which version is supported best but I'd like to settle on one of them (preferably 2.0 since it's easier to maintain).  let me know what you think:

I always use 2.0.  I know when I first started using RSS feeds I looked into the various formats and came away with the opinion that 2.0 was the most popular.  I don't have any stats right now to back that up though.

The BBC uses 2.0.

I would prefer Atom 1.0, it seems to be a well-designed standard.

As we know from our audio experiences: 'well-designed' and 'popular' are not necessarily synonymous.

This just smacks of the MP3 syndrome.

Except virtually all major feed readers do support Atom 1.0. And there's nothing you can do with RSS 2 that you can't with Atom 1.0 (it's the other way around).

Yeah, why not Atom? From the user's point of view the popularity of the various RSS standards is probabaly less important than support by RSS readers. I seriously doubt there is a single (alive) reader not supporting Atom.

Looks good! Just one thing, link rel="alternate" type="application/xhtml+xml" should have a type "text/html" since that's how your website's XHTML pages are served.

Just tested all three feed formats in Google Reader, Bloglines and Opera's built-in RSS component. Everything worked fine.

I tried the Atom feed in Firefox, Thunderbird and two validators (W3C feed validator and feedvalidator.org), no problems.
