Is it normall for accurate rip to have different offsets for different

Hi,

I just installed EAC .99pb1 and the latest version of AccurateRip.

I tested about 10 CDs with AccurateRip and 4 were found in its database.

3 of them had an offset of +618, but 1 had an offset of +426.

EAC has locked my drives offset to +618, and now when I rip the CD that reported an offset of +426, AccurateRip is reporting the rip has failing.

Is this normal behavior?  I'm just getting back into the CD Ripping game after many years away.  I lost my entire collection of FLAC rips due to a crash and no backups (well, other than my physical CDs

Anyway, I'm trying to set up EAC again to rip all my CDs again to FLAC images + MP3 tracks and figured I should straighten out this offset issue first.

Thanks!

Yes, absolutely!

The CD that gave you a different offset is clearly from a different pressing than the one stored in the AR database.

thanks for the info.  the interesting thing (to me at least) is that for the other 6 or so CDs that AccurateRip did not give a result for it told me the pressing of the cd i inserted wasn't in their DB.

it sounds like for the one cd it gave me the +426 result for (Red Hot Chili Peppers - What Hits!?) it didn't recognize my pressing was different than the one in their db for that cd.

anyway, this was the error that 1st prompted me to post here.  glad to know it isn't anything to worry about!

(i tested in dbpoweramp and EAC when setting up AccurateRip)

The database will continue to grow, but it will probably never be complete.

even a alcohol/nero copied CD on a offseted drive will give different AR results, unless you copy it in EAC with read & write offset setting
