Use windows MCI to play unsupport formats

Cound anyone make a 3rd party component then use windows MCI api to play unsupport formats, such as cda,mid,wma...and so on.

With this component foobar2000 can support formats as same as windows media player.

May be the quality by MCI isn't best. But support is better than unsupport, isn't it?

What about this idea?

WMP 6.4 and newer use DirectShow, not MCI.

I am sorry that I don't know more about MCI and WMP.

But I have a visual basic program that use api:mciSendString. And I found it can play wmv/wma files.
