Music Player Daemon (MPD) Win32 compile

In the changelog of the last version I was happily surprised with the line "Support for compiling on Windows"
Does someone know an existing or can make a Win32 compile of MPD?
I have already searched the MPD forum but only found old posts.

I haven't heard you can run mpd under windows. You sure it's the server, not some client? I know you can run gmpc for instance.
Anyways I'll try if it even builds for win32 (chance to test freshly set cross toolchain :)

The news on the mpd website was described as "MPC and libmpdclient 0.12.1 Released".
I think you are right, the changelog is from the client, Bugger!

Well, I nevertheless tried to build it, and it builds, but there's no suitable ao module for windows.

OTOH, there's that xmms2 thing: http://wiki.xmms2.xmms.se/index.php/Windows
It's somewhat similar to mpd, though I personally find the latter more convenient in every way (on linux that is)

Thanks for all your effort ak,

I’t is not a big problem that MPD is not running on Windows.
For Windows I already have a working solution Winamp+httpQ plugin for my netjukebox project.
For Linux I thought of using MPD because it can use the same approach as Winamp+httpQ plugin.

Is MPD working on Fedora 6 with VMware?
I already have a Fedora 6 VMware image with Apache, PHP, MySQL on it.

If you managed to get something like mysql going, I think mpd will be easy
I remember once trying to setup that mythtv/mysql thing, but soon realized that's just way beyond me.
