Noob wants to use NERO AAC with Exact Audio Copy.

Can I use the Nero AAC with EAC?  I'm thinking like you use the LAME encoder with Exact Audio Copy by pointing to the encoder.exe in compression options.

If not, how can I use Nero AAC with a simple interface?

Thanks.

*Edit -  after searching it seems this isn't possible.  Whats the best and most user friendly GUI to use with NERO AAC encoder?

Thanks

That topic has been locked so I will ask the question here:
The download site says you can put an entire CD into one file.  Can I do this from seperate FLAC (and cue sheet) and chuck the file onto my shuffle for gapless playback.

Also, how good is the nero codec?

You can see how Nero compares to other codecs in listening tests here
I guess that you should concentrate on the results from the latest public tests.

I may be missing what you're pointing to, but following your link I can't see that gets anyone very far.

The latest test specific to the format on that page, AFAICT, is here:

http://wiki.hydrogenaudio.org/index.php?ti...ening_Tests#AAC

It relates to February 2006 and a bitrate of 48kbps, which few people are likely to be listening at.

The latest test including but not specific to that format on that page, AFAICT, is here:

http://wiki.hydrogenaudio.org/index.php?ti...ltiformat_Tests

It's more recent, relating to November 2006, but again is for a bitrate of 48kbps.

I haven't used the Nero encoder myself, although I've used the Core Audio encoder in OS X to encode into AAC. I'd have thought the setting that Nero's guy says is the default in the instructions linked above by menno is what to go for. At that setting the filesize will still be reasonable and any modern encoder will give good results. (Not that I wouldn't expect Nero's latest offering to be at least as good as any alternatives, but, hey, the differences are unlikely to be huge.)

Here's what he says:

Using VBR mode (-q) will give the best quality. The default setting is -q 0.5, which will give about 160-170kbps on average.
