I've got a dvd rw PLEXTOR 755A/T3 and i'm planning on getting an external case, any proposals ?

Will it work properly with EAC ?

Thanx in advance.

Is that an IDE or SATA drive? I have a plextor external drive enclosure I could sell you for IDE drives. I took my plextor premium out of the case. I have not tested the case but I do know that some external drive cases do not pass all commands and reads (like C2 data) correctly. I would imagine the plextor enclosure would, but I have not tested it.

I can tell you from experience that a Plex 760A (IDE) will NOT work with an Oxford 911+ firewire chipset.  I do know for a fact it will work with an NEC USB 2.0 chip and a Cypress AT2+ chip, as I have both.

I have a Plextor Px 230a that I put into a Bytecc ME-320U2 5.25" and it is working out well for me.  I am using the drive and enclosure to do ultra secure rips with dBpoweramp reference edition, and I'm lovin' it.

This enclosure supports my drive's detection of C2, which is very important to me since I have heard that people have issues with this when they put a drive into an enclosure sometimes.

My experience with external cases has been awful. Drives mysteriously disappearing from Windows, refusing to write, etc.

If you need an external device, get one that was made so from the factory. Reason being that spec implementation by case manufacturers tends to be rather poor, and combined with the use of a device that was intended to be internal... you're just asking for problems.
