Nero Audio 2pass encoding and multichannel

Please can anybody tell me how works 2pass encoding in nero audio. In hydrogenaudio Guide it's wrote that 2pass don't change the quelity in VBR mode so when change quality of compressed audio?
And how can I compress multichannel audio in neroaacenc?
