Heelp: Repair damaged FLAC files I must

Arrgh, disaster! I really need some help, please.

I have many FLAC files that are now damaged / corrupt. I used "MediaMonkey" to add metatags and cover art to my collection, and now approx. one third of my files are damaged and unplayable. "FLACTester" from vuplayer.com gives all damaged files this error message: "ERROR_LOST_SYNC @ 0m 0s".

I assume that the error is localized to the front of the files, in a metadata datablock, and that the actual audio data is still mostly OK. Thus I guess that some sort of recovery of the audio data is possible. Is that true? How can I recover the audio content? I have googled, but not found anything about this.

Pretty please, help me recover my data if at all possible. Ripping all those CDs again would be agonizing. :-(

Doh, in my agony over this I forgot to explain the basics. I'm on a Windows XP 32bit, and I would prefer some sort of GUI recovery tool, but a command-line recovery tool could also work. Hex editing the files or other such truly hardcore techie methods are not viable for me.

Pleease heeelp mee. :-)

the MM dev's are aware and have a fix soon.

I have not had any problem playing these flacs with MM, however I have had the problem when trying to re-encode to 1.1.3 flac.

I fixed my files by converting flac to flac via MM, then using the batch file to convert to 1.1.3 flac.

Thank you VERY much. It worked for me too.
