cannot open m3u file

Hi,
When I try to play m3u files in fb2k it gets stuck saying "opening..." at the bottom left.  Otherwise, the program doesn't freeze and it responds to other commands just fine.  The m3u files I'm trying to play are sample songs from the "zunior" music download site (one of the few that offer FLAC downloads).  What I think it is, the fb2k keeps trying to find the http site containing the mp3 file the m3u points to.  Am I missing anything that will allow fb2k to go look and find that target file??
