3.5'' hard disk mp3 player

Hi !

I'd like to build my own mp3 player.
Are there some DIY kits ?
It would be so nice to build a player with a 3.5 inch hard disk,
as they can hold so many Gigabytes !

Hi, I've seen Rapsody RSH-100 media player without  a 3.5" HDD (a user has to buy a hard disk separately).

You can hack an ipod to work with a 3.5" drive.

You will suffer from portability, shock protection (life span), high power requirments and weight.

You might want to consider 2.5" Notebook drives, they are at least engineered with the intent of energy efficiency and physical shock during usage. The Creative Zen Xtra MP3 players can use many off the shelf 2.5" drives; you might want to check them out.

Yeah floppy disk is awesome, I could put half an mp3 on it !!!!!
thanks for the replies but I'm really looking to use a 3.5'' hard disk.
I've seen that some mp3 kits such as the PJRC allow this but they
are limited to 137 Gb.

The RSH-100 model I mentioned supports 3.5" HDDs of any size.
