Inconvenience when adding .ape and .cue

Often, I will add a folder, which contains a .ape and cue (usually CDImage.ape and CDImage.cue), into foobar2000 list. Because .cue has the segment information about the .ape, I just need to restrict incoming filetype (in "General") to *.cue;*.mp3, etc.

But some albums are directly cut into small .ape, such as 1.ape, 2.ape, 3.ape. So I need again change the imcoming filetype to *.ape .

I am wondering could here be a plugin which detect the filename of .ape in .cue and will not add it into playlist? If no such plugin, could foobar2000 add this feature in its next beta version? Thanks!

This has been asked so many times, and I'm afraid there still is no real resolve.

You either:
  • manually change the "Exclude file types" value in "Preferences" > "General" before importing, or
  • embed the cuesheet in the .ape file and either remove the external cuesheet or rename it .bak
I'm on a horse.

as already stated by me here [ http://www.hydrogenaudio.org/forums/index....howtopic=44699# ]
rename .ape file to .cue.ape , edit the cue-sheet accordingly and in Configuration/General exclude file types *.cue.ape

Note: this method implies modifying cue-sheets... you should make a backup first
Note2: using a text editor like TextPad and Total Commander for mass-renaming should pose no problems even with lots of files
