ASAPI driver trouble

Hello all, let me explain what happened.  I was ripping in EAC V0.95b4 with my Native Win32 Interface selected just fine.  Then I read The ESSENTIAL Ripping Guide for EAC and thought that maybe it would be a better idea to install the ASAPI driver from VOB (God knows why...).  When I realized I didn't need it, I uninstalled it from my computer and switched the settings back to Native Win32 Interface.  However, when I restarted my computer, Nero popped up automatically and told me that my settings had changed, and I needed to restart.  I restarted again, and when I loaded up iTunes, it exclaimed that the registry settings had changed, and that in order to burn CDs, I would have to reinstall iTunes.  I also noticed more recently that even when ripping under the Native Win32 interface in EAC, it locks up and forces me to end the EAC process (which it never did before I installed the ASAPI driver).  Is there any way I can track this problem down easily and fix all three programs?  Any help appreciated.  Thanks!

* Your best bet: Use a System Restore point that was created before you installed Vob ASAPI.
* Your second best bet: Download Total Uninstall 2.35 (last freeware version), and allow it to track the re-installation of Vob ASAPI, and then uninstall it via Total Uninstall.
* Use several programs that have registry cleaners (these listed are freeware): CCleaner, EasyCleaner, RegSeeker, etc.
* Manually hunt down left-overs in the registry using Regedit.

Thanks for your reply, Andavari.  iTunes is still being a pain, so I guess I'll just manually go in and reinstall the said applications.  I just didn't know if there was a quick fix.  By the way, I'm not a fan of System Restore, and wouldn't recommend it to others.

Neither am I since I've seen it fail on a few occassions, and worst fail to fully restore the registry. However for a known good registry backup I now only rely upon ERUNT (freeware).

Definitely agree.  After working in the computer support business, I have seen this happen all too often.  What's worse is if the user has brought in the computer with a virus/spyware/adware and System Restore is enabled.  Before we clean it up, we disable System Restore, which makes life easier for all of us...

That's exactly what I did & that's just what I got, ran asapi.exe in compatibility mode for win 2k & 98 on server 2008, trying to get eac to unfreeze with tun235 at the moment.
Could use some helpful advice.

You have to uninstall filter drivers it installed - I had the same problem with ASAPI drivers. Suddenly, no program recognised my DVD burner, it was visible in windows, but no program could read anything from it. And if readable, it was terribly slow and sluggish.

Here are some solutions, I've used Microsoft one, but they didn't had that Mr. Fixxit link then, you can try that :
