Foobar 0.9.x & Remote Control's?

On my main media playing computer I've been using foobar for a long time.  Using the RM-X component I could use my ATI Remote for changing tracks and other things in foobar.  Could even change tracks when foobar was minimized or while playing a game.  Also it would not disturb the screensaver to do so.  However since 0.9's release the RM-X component has not, and likely will not be updated, at least not any time soon.  Is anyone working on a similar component for 0.9.x?  I would love to be able to switch to the newer version of foobar on this box, but without proper support for my remote this is impossible.  So I kindly request someone write something similar for the new version.  I'm sure many people would like this.  I am aware of some of the alternatives, but they all just map the remote keys to keyboard shortcuts which disrupt the screensaver or any application that may be in focus.  Thanks to whoever may respond and I hope I put this in right category.

Here’s what I’ve been using girder for..

U can use girder to map just about any type of input to just about any action in windows with conditional's and groups and such. you can make keys perform several actions depending on what program is open/focused, or wether a button is tapped or held. i have complete control over every key on the remote and also every non-standard key on my keyboard (there’s 30 of them on the logitech keyboard elite  ).

girder is set up to use media keys on the keyboard and remote. if either foobar2000 v0.9, KMPlayer, or Media Player Classic depending on what is open or in focus, it will select the latter. I can set focus to the playlist, or the playlist tree component and navigate them with the remote. I have assigned a button to either open or set focus to foobar, then move the window and my mouse cursor to the top right of the screen. it pretty much brings foobar up full screen on my tv's 1024x768 resolution while my desktop is set to 1600x1200.

also the media player I just started using is called KMPlayer. it can show a transparent file browser on top of the video in the overlay. its great for browsing video files on the TV without having to put up with tiny fonts.

check out some of the stuff im doing with it..

heh, i just got a white box ATI remote wonder plus for $25can at a store in my area.

Is it possible you could share your .gml file with us, cause it would be nice to have somthing as an example to rebuild mine

It's your lucky day. foo_lirc just got recompiled for 0.9
it may be a little buggy because it's only a recompile as far as i understand, but it should probably work

You will need a remote control server like win_lirc.

Awesome.  Going to try that after lunch.  Out of curiousity, when you use the remote, does it disturb the screensaver?

Also, for ATI remote folks, foo_winamp_spam can be used with the Remote Wonder winamp plugin as well.  Some function aren't working yet, but you can play/pause/stop and skip tracks.  There is modifed winamp plugin for the remote wonder software that allows it to work when foobar is minized as well.  Hopefull the LIRC plugin is better though.
