Prevent foobar to play same tracks in a row @ random

hi,

a friend of mine doesn't want songs to be played twice in a row when using the random mode in foobar. As far as I understand it is that foobar would shuffle the playlist after each song played, which could cause a song to play twice in a row or some songs could play more often than other songs in the short term.

My friend wants something like in WMP, where the playlist is suffled once and after that each track of the playlist is played only once.

Is there an option or plugin for this available?

thank you
--alt-presets are there for a reason! These other switches DO NOT work better than it, trust me on this.

Option 1: Use 0.9 with one of the built-in shuffle playback modes.

Option 2: Find foo_shuffle if you are still using 0.8.3 and be prepared that it might crash.

Option 3: Randomize playlist and don't shuffle.

thanks, I didn't realize that the new foobar can do that

Option 3: Randomize playlist and don't shuffle.

hmm, how would I do that? I assume that you mean pressing the random button and use the default playback mode. However, that will only start at a random song and then proceed in a nonrandom order...

1> select all, right click, sort, randomize

2> edit, sort, randomize
