Transcoding divx or other to h.264 QT

I have quicktime pro installed on my PC, but when I try to transcode a video file it won't do the transcode. Is there a way to properly use qt pro? Or maybe use another peice of software that would be able to do the transcode?

Thx

Well, you can transcode to h.264 in Nero Recode, but not using QT's codec.  Honestly, you're only going to lose quality by transcoding, so unless there is a specific reason you need a h.264 file, I suggest you don't transcode.

Read or heard somewhere the QT's h.264 produces smallest file size of all the video codec and the best image. I just want to get to a smaller vid files.

Aint true.

H.264 could be the best of all but not QT's version of it. Try x264 with megui or something.
