Only 3 CD-r to pick, which one?

EDIT: PLEASE READ! Because Of changed manufacturer, i have changed the post! It would be much help if you again consider the question.

well, here in india not all cd-r are available.

i have to choose among

1) Sony Supremas (made by Sony Corp.)
2) Moser Baer Pro+ (made by Moser Baer)
3) Samsung (made by Prodisc)
4) Frontech (made by Plasmon)

no other good brand is available
if i demand imported, they give Imation (CMC)

and only sometimes i get Maxell (Acer). thats not frequent supply

-> so among this bad/moderate ones which one should i pick?

-> is Prodisc a good company?

-> if i can get Maxell(Acer) should I go for it or i should go for Imation(CMC)?

please help me out ASAP because i have lot to burn

I'd go for the Ritek or Sony. Stay away from Plasmon, the ones I laid my hands on were utter crap. Whatever you choose, make sure your burner likes them by doing an error or read transfer scan after burning.

Moser Baer can definitely produce high quality media that is up to par with Taiyo Yuden IMO ... but in my experience, its variation is too high. You could easily buy a 10-pack that works perfectly andexperience coasters on the second 10-pack.

I'd go for Ritek ...
The name was Plex The Ripper, not Jack The Ripper

Actually, i'm curious as to people's experience with the Sony Supremas ones, I use them as my everyday burning disc (i use Maxell branded TYs for really important stuff). Are they a good disc? They seem to be better then some of the really low end crap.

I've been told numerous times that Sony has quality, but lacks durability. It shouldn't really be a problem if you take care of them properly, though.

As for the choices, I would go with the Ritek CD-Rs.

i've just had some tests with Nero CD-DVD Speed tools.
On some moserber pro and sony, there were 0 C2 errors at highest speed!
(LG 32x10x40x writer)
on moserbaer, these were frequent.
it's quite surprizing because of the opinion found on most sites.
but i think, as moser baer pro+ is only made for india, they might have made good quality.
(note: these CDs were burnt before 1 year)

I'd go with Ritek, also. Moser Baer India and Sony are not the most durable CD-Rs I've seen.

hey guys!
i was so happy about ritek and went to buy some.
but i found that the brand Frontech changed it's manufacturer to Plasmon.
and some even prodisc

Now what should i do?

it seems that on LG writer Moser Baer Pro+ doesn't show C2 error, then should i give it a try?

"please sorry for inconvinience as at first i wrote Frontech (Ritek), as from now on they dont offer CDs from Ritek they have gone Plasmon!"

-> Is Prodisc a good company?

-> Is Acer a good company?

-> is Imation (CMC) good one?

(the problem is that i dont get Imation or Maxell frequently so i have to chose among

Sony, Moser Baer, Plasmon, Prodisc!

(i already have read reviews about plasmon being bad one).

thanks for your invaluable time!

As far as I know:

- Prodisc is not the greatest
- Acer - I have no idea
- Plasmon - not good
- Sony, Moser Baer and CMC - most of mine corroded far too early to consider them good.

Moser Baer Pro+ may be better than "standard" Moser Baer OEM discs, but they don't have to.

At this point, I really have no idea what to advise you. Maybe you should search for information on CD-Rs' durability here also.

If I were you, I'd buy a small number of Sony and Moser Baer Pro+ each, burn a sample disc with each and do a C1/C2 error scan. Anything else is just guesswork, as no one knows how your burner can cope with the discs, especially since MB+ seems to be an Indian speciality not available elsewhere. For real long term storage, I wouldn't trust any of the manufacturers you mentioned, but would give the benefit of the doubt to Sony or Moser Baer Pro+.
Maybe you can get some good Taiyo Yuden or Mitsubishi/Verbatim (or at least Ritek) media via mail order?

I've bought Indian-made Verbatims so unless they are all made for export a shop should be able to order them.

BTW, these are in fact made by Moser Baer  I've used hundreds of these Verbatims and never had a problem.

we have only 4 choices. and from them, Plasmon is seriously cheap and crap.
so lets think about others
Sony, MoesrBaer, ProDisc
each of them has 50% good and 50% bad reviews.
Some would say Sony > MB > ProDisc
at some other place i read ProDisc > MB > Sony
Some would say Acer> MB > Sony > Prodisc
there's not much difference in price of Sony, MB & Samsung.
and from opinions, it seems that only one brand is constant in everybody's opinion.
i.e. MoserBaer (which holds 2nd position, but constant)
So i think i would prefer that

one more thing is that my 1 year old MoserBaerPro+ didn't show any C2 error. so i am satisfied.

for further quality try MoserBaerPro+GOLD which is same as Pro+ but with real GOLD dye. because of GOLD's characteristics, it's even better.
and besides that's the only GOLD media available in india now-a-days
