USB sound card and linein audio input

Hello,
I have one USB sound (Sound Blaster® Audigy™ 2 NX external) card and one is PCI (Live-24 , 5.1) creative  sound card.

What i want to know is that, what if i use both cards USB and PCI in a way that, I pass audio input to the USB sound card thru its Line in jack from the PCI card as an output.

Does this will improve the sound quality or it doesn’t matter?

Thx in advance,
Ashish

I'm not sure if I understand your question. You want to play something through your PCI soundcard to its line out while that line out is connected to the line in of the USB soundcard, correct?

The line in of a soundcard is most often to record. Do you want to record the input of the USB card? You certainly should be able to do that, if that is what you are asking, but what is your purpose?

If you are asking if you can improve the audio quality of the original file (the one being played out via the PCI card) by going D to A through the PCI card followed by A to D through the USB card, the answer is no. If the two cards are both good enough, there might be too little difference between the original and your re-recording for you to tell just by listening, but any difference would be on the downside, not an improvment.
