Sonicstage and alternatives

I'm thinking of buying a Sony NW-HD5 but I have some questions about Sonicstage.

I've just read that when you have uploaded a file to the player, using SS, the file on the COMPUTER is locked and can't be transfered to another computer! Is this true? And if it is, will Mp3FileManager also do this?

I also wonder if anyone has tried using iTunes to sort their music and then just drag and drop the music to Mp3FileManager? I've heard that this is possible with iTunes and SS...

False. You can't transfer your files if ripped as encrypted Atrac. If you use mp3 or unencrypted Atrac files (possible with SS3.2), you can copy the files from one computer to other completely freely.

If your music is as mp3 files you can just drag and drop from explorer. Itunes is likely to work too because it allows you to drag and drop files much like explorer does.
