Legal Hq Source Of Music In Mp3/wma/oggvorbis

www.allofmp3.com

Just wanted to share with all of you this very nice resource of legal music and videos, featuring such formats as MP3, WMA and OGG, and DivX, MPEG-1/2 for videoclips. This is a well done and professional looking Russian site, operating under licence from appropriate authorities, and recently they made an English interface as well (somewhat limited though -- no extended news, no artist description, etc.) Around 95% of the content is commercial (so called VIP Club), but very affordable (1MB of compressed music=0,01$ !!! major CCs accepted) And what I like most is that they allow YOU to choose the format, encoder and parameters you like for YOUR files before buying -- this is truly a unique feature AFAIK, not available anywhere else (even for much bigger money!) Online Encoding is COOL! B)

Check it out, guys! Highly recommended!..

P.S. Don't get me wrong, I'm not connected in any way with them!

sounds its viable now that p2ps are so filtered

EDIT

after registered, i was dissapointed to find that there are no lossless codecs for "online encode"  . I already mailed them asking if theres ever going to be APE support...

But anyway its good to know they have oggvorbis to its maximum bitrate, but i also found something strange... MP3 at 384kbps??? WTF???  Which encoder is that???

time to post a new thread...

Hummm... 384 sounds more like MP2.

Anyway, you can get MP3 @ 384 kbps encoding to freeformat. But freeformat is used so rarely that I wonder if they mean it.

i just downloaded an album i couldn't find on p2p networks with a free guest account.
this allowed only 128 kbps mp3 and a maximum of 3 simultaneous downloads @ 3kbyte/s
but it is weird that they were encoded with different encoders
EncSpot reports that some are FhG, but most are Xing (some 'very old' and some 'new') and also some blade.
I was surprised how many songs are free there but it seems that only the paid service is really good (which of course is ok but nothing for me because i've no credit card)
and who the cap fit, let them wear it

I wouldn't mind testing a few downloads, i.e. 500 Mb for $5. But it will have to be with PayPal (that service it not up yet). I absolutely do not feel like using my VISA card on their site.

Has anyone read their claimed license?

It is probably valid in Russia. But that does not necessarily make it legal for non-Russians to use the service...

I tried out their site with one of my credit cards, for $5 US, choosing the "traffic" option (in which you pay 1 cent/MB). I downloaded 7 CD's (including two box sets) encoded as Ogg Vorbis -q7, and could simultaneously download 5 files at once and still hit 40-65KB/sec on each file, so it only took a few minutes per CD. (I have a 100Mbit connection to the internet). I then decoded the files and burned audio CD's, as I'm not one to listen to music at the computer. And I still have $2 left on the account! They seem to have some good CD's if you do the searching...I found some jazz fusion in addition to the more common classic rock offerings that I normally download. I'll gladly pay for the quality...I never got into the P2P thing due to the proliferation of shitty-quality mp3's on such networks.

Cool tell us how the billing goes, and if it all goes well I will be joining up on this service. They got so many stuff I want to get! But I only got a 56k connection to the Internet .

I downloaded the gratis file "Didn't We Meet" from Alice Cooper Goes to Hell. There's an error (jitter?) in the sound after 30 second. arrrgh! I hope it is not a typical example of the quality of their files.

It is probably valid in Russia. But that does not necessarily make it legal for non-Russians to use the service...

and they also want users to upload certain tracks...I suppose this is why the Music Industry are trying to ban certain sites through the telecoms companies.

Anyway good on them, it shows a valid pay for download service that the Music Industry SHOULD be providing. By valid I mean most tracks avaliable and in the format the user wants, no restrictions on encrypted format / burning CDs.
