CUE Player for WinAmp does not compute VBR correct

Hi everybody

Just got my hands on this fine CUE Player 0.46 plugin for WinAmp (in_cue.dll). It works like a charm, and loads CUE files the way they should be. Unfortunately it seems to get confused with the timings of my VBR encoded files from LAME. The files even feature the additional seek information.

I have yet not tested this with files without the extra seek information (that would actually be odd), nor tried the old and ugly mp3cue solution with these files.

The plugin appearently has no homepage, and so I guess the development has maybe stopped?

Does anybody have any experience with this plugin, or know of another plugin that might do the thing? I think it's sad that WinAmp never got this feature implmented

Hi Henrik,

The only player I've used and found to support accurate VBR cuesheet positioning is foobar. I used to use an older version of Winamp with mp3cue, but abandoned it for that and other reasons.

For portable use, I prefer individual files, and have found that musiCutter is the only app that supports accurate VBR file cutting from a cuesheet. I haven't tried them all, but can confirm that mp3directcut doesn't support accurate VBR cuesheet positioning. If you're so inclined, of course...

If you're not married to Winamp, you should strongly consider joining the foobar crowd. The toolset is enormous, and eye candy can be custom tailored to suit...
