This program would be the best if it used some more sources like artists.trivialbeing basically all the sources from the album art downloader app. that would make an awesome program.

outstanding. i've been looking for the longest time for a program exactly like this to compliment foobar's artwork viewer component. thank you very, very much.

a couple of suggestions:
add a browser where you could google cover art, and when the image is open have an option to save it. that would be brilliant, but may be hard to implement.
more sources for images. it could be a pain to configure passing parameters for each source, though.
save directory structure so you don't have to choose it every time

Hello Nexus, god work done with AAA!
I just reworked my complete 29 GByte MP3 on adding album covers.
And I got some suggestions, to make AAA more useful:
  • Some one here wanted album art from itunes. That might be a good idea, but it would be better to enter personal bases into an pulldown to choose next time.
  • Many of my CD are not acted with Amazon and I have the Cover themselves scanned. An Explorer would be therefore helpful for the purposeful local search.
  • Windows Vista did a hard work on exploring my \Music\ and extracting stored album art and searching for cover on MSN (?) . It would be a good idea to search first for  'folder.jpg' written by Vista-player and then for cover.jpg or else...
  • Many of my folders with DCD... are named abc_CD1 or abc_(Disc2) or abc_(1 of 2). It would be a nice service if AAA  kills these part of the folder-path.
    (edit: You might handle this with a filter on 'CD?' or 'Disc?' or '??of??' or same and cut them from the string...)
Just only brainstorming to make AAA more handy...

My current project launches in beta next week. I've been up until dawn (or past dawn) every day working on it. Including weekends. Fun.

I will try to make updates to the program when I have a little more time. But I'm not making any promises because I suck horribly at that.

I'm really going to try though. It makes me feel incredibly guilty when people donate money and I haven't made updates in nearly two years =|

Nice to hear from you again, nexus. I, for one, Am happy to see that we might get more updates to this program - I still prefer it over the alternatives. Do you think you could make a quick recompile of the current codebase with a more recent .NET framework? I'm not sure which one is required, But i remember some people complaining about it crashing on Vista (.NET 3.0) a few times.

Now, back to the software at hand: Thank you so much for AAA. This is exactly what I have been looking for. Nobody else has this without downloading a bunch of crap that you don't want like demo-ware, such as mediamonkey, or musicmatch. Who wants to download a music player that is only half usable, and if you want to use the other half, it will cost you almost $50.. What a ripoff...

AAA with foobar2000 is such a perfect combination.

I have almost in every album folder one folder called Artwork. How can I exclude this by scanning?

It looks like Album Art Aggregator search until the last folder.

Discovered the new foobar2000 layout system today, and that made me have a sudden desire for album art since customising the layout was now within my lazy grasp! Well, this program is awesome. No idea what the alternates are, this was the first one my search hit, but in less than 30 minutes I just setup my entire collection with art.

Pretty cool app 

Some questions, please:
  • Is there a way to have it scan existing ID3 tags?
  • Is there an "ignore" variable I can put into the file path field?
  • Will there be ID3 support, for instance have it embed the cover into individual files via ID3?
Again, cool app that has saved me some time. Hopefully it will mature to the point that I can ditch Album Cover Art Downloader, which AFAIK is orphaned.

Development was taken over by marc_landis (as Album Art Downloader), and later re-written as [a href='index.php?showtopic=57392']Album Art Downloader XUI[/a] by me, and is still under active development.

I thought those apps looked alike  I stand corrected.

That said, I'd still like the tag support I mentioned previously to be considered. Also, does anyone have an anwser to the variables question? If there's a list of variables somewhere, that's prob all I need.

congrats to this fine app...i was searching and testing a whole programms to add cover-arts to my music-collection. then i get in contact with your great tool...and i love it 

but...would it be possible to extend the console-batch mode?

i want to use it this way:
%applicationPath%\AlbumArtAggregator\AlbumArtAggregator.exe /load "Metallica - Metallica" "D:\Music\Metallica\Metallica\cover.jpg"

it´s up to date not possible to use the /load attribute in connection with the other attributes. it would be fine if you build that in

Hi I'm having troubles with this program. 

It was working fine with me for a while then I did a reinstall of Windows XP installed .NET 2.0 and now whenever I try to launch the program it does not start up.  In the task manager the program starts briefly and then quits.  Is there a way to debug my problem?  Has anyone else had a similar problem? 

Suggestions?

Awesome program. It was almost exactly what I was looking for in an album art downloader. Between this and AlbumArtDownloader I managed to upgrade to higher res coverart on my whole collection in under 3 hours. Simply awesome.

My only requests would be more than 3 images to pick from, and additional sources like amazon.ca and amazon.fr, which should be easy enough to add, I think. Even more sources like AlbumArtDownloader has (ie: discogs, cd universe, cover paradies, etc...) would be over the top awesome.

The "Media Art Aggregator" from second link is pretty nice.
But I thought of something integrated inf foobar ...

Unfortunately , the "Media Art Aggregator" is not always able to find a cover.

VLC have also the built in feature to download the cover from a played track, but for any reason it doesn't save it.
Bug or problem with win7 I  don't know.

Hi

I've used Album Art Agregator for a while , but now find that for some reason Amazon UK , Com and De are giving the error

'Remote Server Returned an Error : (404) Bad Request'

Amazon.jp is working ok.

Is this Amazon actively refusing the request , I wonder , and is it a permanent problem , does anyone know?


If it's a permament thing , can the program be reset to apply to a different addess for the pics?
